Cosmo s.c.s. is a NGO working on youth activities (youth animation, school counseling, children play-centers), drug addiction therapy and behavior disease treatments.

Founded by a group of citizens who believed in the power of the local community of taking care of his youngsters, Cosmo manages services born with “Associazione il Mosaico” and “La linea dell’Arco” in the 80s. We offer prevention and aggregation projects, meeting teenagers not only in the schools, but even on the roads. We also offer to drug addicts’ ways of rehabilitation to get out of addiction, creating new social services.
Cosmo has a special mission: to develop better individual skills for a high quality of life promoting: a better society open to dialogue, to diversity and solidarity.
Starting from 1985 Cosmo has developed street education and community base projects. In 1999 Cosmo increased his works with youngsters, meeting thousands of boys and working in the whole zone of Vicenza.

Actual activities
Cosmo is one of the biggest NGO of Veneto involved in therapy and rehabilitation of drug addicted in six houses and in a laboratory for work integration to help this people to find his independence.
In 1999 was created” Etere” (territorial educative staff), which works on promotion, prevention, education and territorial improvement with these services:

• Street animation with youngsters in their meeting points

• Projecting and managing of Youth Centres (e.g. in Costabissara) and children play centers with animation and education activities

• Training courses for parents and adults, to help them to educate better their sons

• Training courses for boys about solidarity, peace and multi-cultural world.

• Training courses for youngsters about prevention of drug addiction and dangerous behaviors, creativity and individual skills development

• Training courses for educators: methods and techniques of educating kids and youngsters.

Cosmo is actually composed by 36 workers, with 24 educators and 8 psychologists.

Cosmo has got a big experience in european projects of Youth in Action Programme (EVS volunteers, Youth for Europe, Youth Support Systems).

Starting from 2005 we’ve hosted 6 EVS volunteers and, in accordance with Linea dell’Arco*, we’ve been hosting, coordinating and sending organization for more than 20 volunteers.

We took part, with Linea dell’Arco, in several youth exchanges.
